So why did I buy SentrySafe H2300? I decided to keep a fireproof home safe around the house when we chose to rent out our finished basement to other people. I just wanted our important documents, certificates and what not more secure now that we have someone else living in our home. Regardless of strangers in the house, I think it’s always a good idea to have a more designated and secure place for all your important and valuable items.
My Search For The Best Fireproof Home Safe
I started searching for a safe about a week before the renters moved into our basement. I wanted something that would keep my valuables safe, secure and had a very discreet look to it. I just needed something moderately sized and wanted one that doesn’t really scream “Hey look at me. I have tons of valuables inside. Try and open me!” You know, like one of those steel safes you see inside the banks. I saw the SentrySafe H2300 online and decided to get it. It looked very secure, reliable and discreet. The gray box somewhat resembles Tupperware; one of the least intriguing things on earth. It was perfect.
A few key features of this safe are: fire proof verified by the ETL up to half an hour, UL classified half an hour proven fire protection up t o 1550 degrees Fahrenheit, a 360 degree jamb and waterproof seal that prevents water from coming in, spring latch seal, and has a capacity of approximately 627 cubic inches. It can easily fit an 8.5 by 11 inch document without having to be folded. I was able to fit a couple of documents, passports, certificates, and my “rainy day” stash inside, with some room to spare.
SentrySafe H2300 Is NOT Heavy
The SentrySafe H2300 weighs only about 25 pounds which makes it easy to move around when you want to change the location of it. That’s also another reason why I opted for this rather than those hundred pound safes. I can literally see myself breaking my back having to move such heavy objects. I can be quite fickle and just as much as I rearrange my furniture, I can also see myself moving this safe ever so often. I love the fact that it’s a traditional key lock and not the ones that require some kind of combination or number code. I’ve heard horror stories about those types malfunctioning, sometimes you’re no longer able to open the safe or your code gets jumbled up or forgotten. This safe comes with two keys. It’s always good to have a spare just in case you lose one. And you don’t have to worry about duplicate keys from other models being sold. Each one of these safes comes with their own unique key and there are no duplicates being sold.

SentrySafe H2300 Review Conclusion
On top of everything else, the SentrySafe was very reasonably priced. You get more value from it than you expect to get from a $40 investment. You may even be able to get it cheaper, just depends where you buy it. Basically, it’s a great safe and every feature is functional and keeps your valuables safe.
